CNN/Turner Broadcasting
| Assistant Art Director | IKDZ inc. | Craig McMahon | AOL Time Warner | Freelance Design work for CNN, TBS and TNT was extensive and spanned decades but if I had to pick something out of all those years it would be making sure that the Larry King sets in multiple venues looked the same on camera. The "pegs" were individually painted pieces of plexi rod backlit by dimmable flourescent lights with different camera equipment and studio lighting in each venue. Add to this that "breaking news" could stop the crew at any moment and that the end result had to be approved by multiple department heads each watching from their own remote location on a different monitor it became an educational experience for all involved. There are other highlights like the transroll project and election convention coverage which required making a mountain of information into something each crew could digest at a glance. It was a pleasure to work all those years with the rock solid reliable crew at CNN and I am lucky to count many of them as friends for life. | Emmy Certificate, Lighting Design "My South Speaks" |
