Virtual Portfolio Review | Applicant Instructions

Portfolio Requirements

Congratulations to those of you who passed Part I of the Scenic Artist Apprenticeship Test! The Interview/Portfolio Review which was originally scheduled for March 28th, 2020 has been rescheduled to April 10th, 2021. Due to continuing health concerns from the pandemic, this will be an entirely virtual event.

Click here to review the letter applicants which was sent on March 4th, 2021.

As a reminder, we asked for 6 specifically representational pieces. (These include landscapes/seascapes, perspective or architectural drawings/paintings, still life, sculpture or 3-D pieces, and copies of master paintings - please click here to review the original requirement details.) However, we are allowing up to 10 pieces to be submitted for review.

Applicants should think of these 4 optional additional pieces as a way to show variety and demonstrate the scope of your ability. For example, these could include graffiti, art installations, photographs of murals, sign painting, illustration, portraiture and figure drawing.*

*We know that we originally specified no figure drawings in the online criteria, but we have decided to allow them in these additional pieces if the applicant so chooses.

Submit image info for at least six images per applicant, and no more than ten. Please fill out the form in its entirety for all of your pieces. You will then be directed to a link to upload the corresponding images and documents.

All applications submitted will be considered final and treated as such. Applicants will not be permitted to add to or edit an application once it has been submitted. All incomplete or duplicate applications will be disqualified.
