KENT DORSEY (Scenic & Lighting Designer) Mr. Dorsey has created over 400 designs nationwide and internationally. Mr. Dorsey’s New York theater productions include Alligator Tales, About Time, The Cocktail Hour, Yankee Dawg You Die, Suds, Another Antigone and Silence. He has worked as both scenic and/or lighting designer for such notable directors as Jerry Zaks, Jack O’Brien, Ellis Rabb, Adrian Hall, John Hirsch, John Tillinger, Brian Bedford, Edward Payson Call, John Rando, Oskar Eustis, Tony Taccone, Richard E.T. White and Sharon Ott. He has designed scenery /or lighting on 98 productions for San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre. Mr. Dorsey also has designed for most of the major resident theater companies including the Kennedy Center, The Ahmanson, Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, American Conservatory Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, the Geffen Playhouse, Seattle Repertory Theater, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare Theatre at the Folger, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Missouri Repertory Theater, Cleveland Play House, Alliance Theatre Company, Denver Center Theatre Company and the Los Angeles Theatre Center. Mr. Dorsey designed scenery and lighting for Silence a world premier by The Subaru Acting Company and the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. (Productions at Sanbyakunin Gekijo (Tokyo) and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre plus US tour & two National tours of Japan.) His opera work includes Scenery, Projection and Lighting Design for the World Premier of The Conquistador (San Diego Opera directed by Sharon Ott). Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ The Lighthouse directed by Jack O’Brien (San Diego Opera & Chicago Opera Theatre). La Boheme and Samson et Dalila (Palm Beach Opera). The Crucible, Madama Butterfly, Werther and The Merry Widow, Anna Karenina, Tosca, The Barber of Seville, La Boheme, Sour Angelica , Giani Schicchi (Opera San Jose).
