The Local USA 829 Scenic Artists Best Practices Training Task Force is proud to present a series of Scenic Art Skills Tool Kit Workshops right here in Boston. The two workshops intend to increase your skills and artistry as a working Scenic Artist. Save the date! The workshops are August 19 and 20 and are instructed by our experienced members.

Please note that for each workshop, there is a 20-participant maximum. RSVPs for the workshops will open two weeks in advance of the session on 8/5 and 8/6, respectively. For instance, registration for the Wood Graining for Film course, which takes place on Sat. August 19, will open on Sat., August 5. You will receive an email (and link) to register. These workshops will be recorded and edited to be shared with our membership.

Participants will receive a foundation of intricate skills and a general overview in the various techniques of faux wood graining. Here, you'll learn the techniques and materials used to achieve several wood grain finishes, and you will acquire an understanding of color theory and glazing application for this technique. This workshop will ensure that you can create a lot of effect in fewer steps, creating realistic wood grains fast and efficiently.
