Join us Sunday, March 10 at 12 PM ET; 11 AM CT; 9 AM PT for Hazard Communications with Monona Rossol. You can RSVP here. If you’ve done the HazCom training before, it is time to do it again! Many regulatory changes have occurred, some just within this last month. For example, in the area of workplace air quality, we’ll learn:
- The EPA is now able to invade OSHA territory and set workplace standards for chemicals;
- The new California OSHA airborne lead limits are set, and OSHA is proposing to do the same;
- The next time wildfire smoke from Canada darkens our air, the new lower PM2.5 limits will require employers to send us home sooner.
In addition, this 4-hour class helps members to identify or question hazardous conditions on the work site in an informed manner so that work can proceed safely, including laws that apply to shops, locations and work sites, and the materials we so often use. Participants will also discuss characteristics of substances that workers are exposed to, how they enter the body, and the degrees to which these substances can affect us, how to identify them, avoid them, and how to deal with them. There will also be an extended Q&A for any questions you’d like to ask Monona.
