Project Agreements And Paypal
Designers working under a Union Project Agreement (UPA), should under no circumstances accept payment through PayPal or any other service that deems you a "merchant," subject to "consumer" complaints, rather than an employee of a producer. Under PayPal's rules, if there is a dispute between you and the producer, it is possible for the producer to lodge a complaint with PayPal and have their money refunded. This circumvents the grievance process required by the project agreement, and if your PayPal account has a negative balance due to this refund, PayPal will dun you for the money and engage a collection agency.
The Union will not get involved in disputes with PayPal.
