Sunday, September 30th was the 32nd Annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Flea Market. After several weeks of prepping at the union office, the big day arrived. United Scenic Artist's ten-table booth was filled with original sketches, Playbills, show jackets, swag and memorabilia. A fantastic group of enthusiastic union members worked hard all day, selling the donations members had generously dropped off at the union office. Out of 58 tables, USA 829 came in as the eighth top table, earning $12,287.00. Broadway Cares sent a heartfelt thank-you letter, which read in part:
”The very health of our industry is impacted by making that which is onstage so accessible to the audiences, and it is a real opportunity to remember that the theatre is made possible by...people whose skills make everything from sets to advertising. The USA table is always a favorite. We are so grateful for your ingenious treasures, and for so many of your union showing up to take part.”
